New Nucleus in Curitiba – (Small LearningCenter )

A new nucleus with 15 new students:

A new nucleus was started in the facilities of the 10th Foursquare Gospel Church, Campo Comprido, Curitiba, Parana, using 2 monitors ( facilitators) in each class room.

Under the leadership of Pr Rogerio Amorim, who is the national vice president of the Board of Directors of the Foursquare Gospel Church and pastor of the 10th Foursquare Church in the city of Curitiba, a new LEARNING TO READ AND WRITE WITH THE BIBLE nucleus was started in the last week of May. The Monitor, Mrs. ARACI DE FÁTIMA RIBEIRO, which is also a teacher, took over the leadership of the nucleus being responsible for the functioning and administration of it. It is wonderful to think that we have now 4.970 nucleus in all evangelical denominations that we are evangelizing through this program called LEARNING TO READ AND WRITE WITH THE BIBLE.

We are asking for your prayers for God provide donations of Bibles, which are very necessary at this moment.

AGREEMENT BY DISTANCE – VIA INTERNET

In the month of May was made an agreement, via internet, between PROJECT ALPHA – ASSOCIATION OF ARTS AND CULTURE, located in the Rio, and “LEARNING TO READ AND WRITE WITH THE BIBLE”. It was the first time that this happened in our Project-Program. The first contact was made with brother Mar Junior, vice president and coordinator of this project. With no formalities, was celebrated an agreement where the Association of Arts e Culture will develop our Project in Jacarepagua, Rio de Janeiro, RJ. The responsible monitor has not been trained yet, but it has been already agreed that a teacher will come to Curitiba for the Training.

OUR DIDACTIC MATERIAL CAUSES ENTHUSIASM IN "BRAZIL ALPHABETIZED"

The Department of Education and Culture received our didactic material and the department of “Brazil Alphabetized Program” got really excited about it.

We receive phone call from the Dr. Deloá Muller, assessor of the representative in the Congress Dr. Andres Zacharow, person in charge of the contacts of Learning How to read and write with the Bible with the direction of Brazil Alphabetized, that our didactic material caused enthusiasm in the Department of Education. They commented, "this accord with “Learning to Read and Write with the Bible” project should have been done yesterday", meaning this must be done immediately.

Our contacts had started with Owner Onésia de Mello, head of Cabinet of the Dr. Andres Zacharow, who end up having a meeting with Dr. Gondiva Vasconcelos, coordinator head of "Brazil Alphabetized", when of the presentation of our project-program. Telephonic contacts had been kept with Dr. Rosimere Rock, assessor of the Dr. Gondiva.

Now we are studying the normative aspects, and we wait to be able to fill the requirements necessary to establish an accord with Ministry of the Education and the Brazilian Evangelical Center, our sponsor entity. However we know that up to 30 of June it will be impossible to fill all the paper work and the normative bureaucratic aspects of the system. However we know that it has a great interest from President Lula in Teaching our people to read and write, with good will and dilatation of the period for the application documents, it will be possible to privilege the evangelical churches with a methodology (the only one) that teaches speaking their own language.

4 MORE PEOPLE LEARNED HOW TO WRITE AND READ WITH THE BIBLE

AND ENGAGED IN THE AFTER READING AND WRITING PROGRAM.

Under the leadership of the teacher Elvia Giane, of the Presbiterian Church of Brazil in Resende - RIO DE JANEIRO, four more pupils learned How to Read and Write with the Bible and engaged in the after Reading and Writing Program.

In a recent letter from Giane, she says that she needed more time so that our pupils could conclude the two phases of the program: She says: "It is with great joy that I am contacting you again after so long." (A little more than two years - the details are ours) She continues “Due to some difficulties of the pupils and some misfortunes, we only now conclude the "Learning to Read and Write with the Bible" course and the After "Reading and Writing Program".

Congratulations the sister Giane, who was not only interested in giving conclusion Diplomas to her pupils, but in teaching them, to read and write and to count the numbers also. A good example that many governors and their teams need to follow.

That is enough of this daydream of automatic approval and certification for illiterates, as have done the former governor of the state of Paraná Jaime Lerner and Rafael Graça de Macedo and his team. These, after managing Curitiba per four years, a city of more than two million inhabitants, he runs for the house of representative almost losing his election, obtaining a non expressive 66.000 votes. (In Brazil the people choose the House of Parliament Representatives)

Example as given by teacher Elvia Giane, the people is learning to judge these bad administrators of the money and the public administration. Congratulations to the Presbyterian Church of Resende: Not only the number of pupils must be taken in consideration but also the quality of this education.
